We are happy to share a few recent improvements made to the entrance of St. Benedict the Moor Church. These updates were simple but important, and they have already made a noticeable difference.
The entrance railings were carefully de-rusted and repainted, restoring both their safety and appearance. Cracks in the pavement and damaged steps were re-cemented and sealed, giving the walkway a cleaner and more secure finish. The old announcement board was removed to make room for a new one in the future.

We also replaced the outdated and unattractive light fixtures with new decorative LED lighting. In addition, new lights were installed near the roofline, providing much brighter illumination for the entire entrance area—especially helpful in the evening.
A major part of the project focused on repairing the overhang above the entrance doors. Years of water damage, moisture, and black mold were addressed. With a new gutter, a thin protective roof, and a thorough power washing, the structure now looks refreshed and well cared for.

We hope these improvements help all of us better appreciate our church building. It has served our parish faithfully for many years, and with this care, we look forward to many more years to come.
