On Sunday, June 8, 2025, St. Benedict the Moor Parish joyfully celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation during a beautiful 10:00 AM Mass presided over by Bishop Evelio Menjivar-Ayala, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Washington. We were honored by his presence and grateful for his pastoral care and encouraging words to our young people and parish community.
This year, six of our young parishioners received the gift of the Holy Spirit through Confirmation: Rakeh, Rodas, Franklin, John, Aden, and Elijah. We are proud of each of them for their commitment and openness to the grace of God. Their dedication is a sign of hope and growth in our vibrant Catholic community.
Our heartfelt thanks go to our Faith Formation team, whose tireless efforts, time, and witness helped prepare the confirmandi for this important step in their journey of faith. Their work is a true ministry of love and service to the Church.
Following the Mass, the parish gathered for a joyful community reception, sharing food and fellowship in celebration of this special occasion. We extend our gratitude to all who contributed to making the day so meaningful—from the liturgical ministers to those who organized the reception and decorated the church.
May the Holy Spirit continue to guide our newly confirmed and renew the faith of our entire parish.
